A 42-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the 10700-block of King George Boulevard about a man found with stab wounds.

Officers helped stabilize the victim, a man in his 40s, before he was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Other officers found and arrested a suspect nearby, canvassed the area for witnesses and collected evidence.

On Sunday, Victor Vi Hoang was charged with aggravated assault causing bodily harm. He is being held in custody until a court appearance on Oct. 2.
