LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a 33-year-old man who died in a Lexington County crash on Saturday night.
Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Old Orangeburg Road near Chestnut Street. Pye said a 2001 Ford sedan was heading west on Old Orangeburg Road when it ran off the right side of the road and hit a ditch.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher confirmed the victim was 33-year-old Melvin Z. Etsell of Lexington and added that he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the coroner's office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the crash.
