COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sunday could be the day that what is now a tropical depression finally turns into Tropical Storm Imelda, as it's still projected to approach the southeast coast in the coming days. For that reason, News19 continues a Weather Impact Alert through Wednesday as the storm could potentially threaten South Carolina.

Current Conditions:

As of Sunday night the system was still a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles an hour and gusts up to 45. It was barely moving northwest at just 2 miles an hour. The storm is expected to become a tropical storm soon, and eventually, a hurricane.
