India has won the Asia Cup in the ODI format on seven occasions and twice in the T20I format.

The inaugural Asia Cup, held in Sharjah, UAE, from April 6 to 13, marked the beginning of the continental championship. India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka participated in a round-robin format.
