Initiative to curb harassment and raise awareness on safety, cybercrimes, and drug menace; teams to also provide self-defence training and monitor safety of women in workplaces

To ensure women’s safety in public spaces, the North Division police have launched the ‘ Rani Chennamma Force ’ to check incidents of harassment and create awareness on crime prevention. The initiative comes under the guidance of North Division DCP Babasab Nemagoud and is led by a woman inspector, supported by four sub-inspectors and 20 women constables. The force, named after Karnataka’s legendary freedom fighter Rani Chennamma , aims to provide visible security in schools, colleges, parks, bus stops, shopping malls, and other areas frequented by women and young girls.
