Police are appealing to the public to help identify a man following two burglaries at a mosque in Melbourne’s north.

Police believe an unknown man broke into Meadow Heights Mosque on Hudson Circuit about 2am on Wednesday, September 10.

After he broke into the premises, he secured a donation box and safe with approximately $20,000 worth of cash, police said.

Investigators believe the same man entered the mosque again about 1.20am on Thursday, September 25.

He left empty handed on his second visit.

“The offender had his face covered during both incidents and was wearing a black Nike fleece hoodie, black tracksuit pants,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
