A high-octane police chase through Perth’s southern suburbs ended in a dramatic Booragoon arrest yesterday, with officers allegedly uncovering a cache of weapons.
Just after midday, police spotted a 30-year-old man driving an Audi erratically along Leach Hwy in Melville.
The pursuit escalated when the car veered into a Myaree carpark and refused to stop, allegedly mounting footpaths and driving on the wrong side of the road before officers called off the chase for safety reasons.
The man was later tracked to a Booragoon shopping centre on South Street in Kardinya, where he allegedly abandoned the vehicle and discarded a duffel bag.
Police body-worn footage shows him standing at a supermarket checkout before an officer rushes in and grabs him.
