POKAGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Cass County Saturday evening, deputies say.

Around 6:45 p.m., a 53-year-old Sault Sainte Marie man was headed south on M-51 passing through the intersection with Crystal Springs Street in Pokagon Township. Another vehicle, driven by a 52-year-old Niles man did not stop at the stop sign at Crystal Springs Street and was hit by the first vehicle, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The Niles man, identified as Steven Dodd, died at the scene, according to deputies.

The man from Sault Sainte Marie and the passenger in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, deputies said.
