PENN YAN N.Y. (WROC) - A little over a week since a fatal fire claimed the lives of 78-year-old Patricia Stenz, her grandson, 12-year-old Ethan Parker, and their dog, the family remembered the young boy on Sunday.
"I went up to see him up front, and it’s sad to know at 12 years old it’s over," said Parker's uncle, who asked to be referred to as Uncle Mike. "I hope he rests in peace and knows that he was a hero trying to get grandma out, and it’s sad that it ended the way it did.”
Mike said they spent time together often, telling News 8, he taught Parker how to swim, took him to the state fair, and did many other fun hangouts. He considered the boy a third son.
