ATHENS, Ga. — Alabama football broke a streak that had lasted coach Kalen DeBoer's entire season-plus tenure in Saturday's 24-21 win over Georgia. And DeBoer would rather this one stay broken.

The Crimson Tide drew fewer penalties (four) than its opponent (six) for the first time in DeBoer's 17 games as coach. And it played no small part in the victory, according to Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.

"We knew it was going to be loud. That was a hostile environment. We worked on silent (cadence) all week, and it was probably a little louder than we anticipated," Simpson said.
