LEWISBURG, Pa. — On Sunday, volunteers gathered to help sort through and clean up local rivers and creeks in the area at the Fall River Cleanup in Union County . Organizers say the low river levels also help the volunteer effort.
"This is something I've done before. Not here in Lewisburg, but growing up in Milton, there's kind of like a state park there. Typically, there's trash all over the side of the road. I've gone there before with trash bags and just filled them up. I like to spend time outdoors, so I think it should look nice," said Andrew viola, Lewisburg resident
Over the years, more than 200 tires have been retrieved from the river and creeks around Lewisburg.
