PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Standing in unity in the face of uncertainty. That’s what brought hundreds downtown Sunday.

“One of the best things about Oregon is that we are resilient people in Oregon is home to all of us,” said Reyna Lopez, president of PCUN, a local farmworkers union.

Portlanders joined elected officials, side by side.

“Let Oregonians know this is bull****,” Governor Tina Kotek told the crowd. “You are here peacefully exercising your constitutional rights.”

Everyone at the waterfront is telling President Trump they don’t want his troops here.

“I’m communicating directly with President Trump. That intervention is not necessary,” Kotek said.

Kotek said the president told her Sunday morning he invoked Title 10 to move armed troops into the Rose City.
