40-year-old Pallavi Ghumde lived with her family in a flat in Kashipada area of Palghar.
In Kashipada, Palghar district of Maharashtra, a woman beat her 7-year-old son to death with a rolling pin for asking for chicken. The woman inflicted multiple blows on the child's head, chest, back, and face. The woman also beat her 10-year-old daughter.
Both were severely injured as a result. Despite the children's serious condition, the woman did not take them to the hospital. The son died at home. Hearing screams, a neighbor came to the house and saw the son lying on the ground covered with a sheet.
