GLOBE, Ariz. — A woman reported missing after Friday night’s devastating flooding in the Globe-Miami area has been found dead, bringing the death toll to three.
Family members told 12News the body of Terri Saenz was discovered late Sunday night, nearly two days after she was swept away by floodwaters.
“We all love our mom and we all want her home,” said Anthony Glover, Saenz’s son.
According to Glover, Saenz had been driving her red Chevy Camaro west from Miami toward the Valley when torrential rain caused severe flash flooding. Her car was swept into a nearby creek. Glover said a driver behind Saenz witnessed it and called 911.
Crews located the heavily damaged car on Saturday. The car was totally unrecognizable.
“The tires are missing off it, the engine is out of it," Glover said. "
