Bars with games are more popular than ever, and last week the nearly 50,000-square-feet Main Event opened at 603 Guilford College Road.

Main Event is a chain that is owned by Dave & Buster’s – a similar concept that has a location in Winston-Salem. Main Event combines laser tag, bowling, billiards and arcade games with a full bar and restaurant. It has 64 locations, including one in Fayetteville.

Main Event’s laser tag room is 50 by 150 feet. It has 24 bowling lanes, including four in a private VIP room.

“We have 102 games,” said manager Everett Sams. “And there are more coming, including Top Gun.”

Other arcade games include NBA Hoops, Connect4 Hoops, Mario Kart, Fast & Furious, Angry Birds Boom!, Virtual Rabbids, StepManiax and a lot more.
