The Statesville City Council will see big changes this fall when residents go to the polls as the mayorship and five seats are on the ballot. One of those positions has an incumbent candidate in the race.

Statesville's wards 2, 3, and 5 are on the ballot, along with the mayor and two at-large seats.

One candidate filed for the ward two seat, Kristi Madison Pfeufer, and ward 3 will choose between the incumbent Doris Allison and her challenger, R. Corina Iyoob.

Ward 5 has the most competition with four candidates in the race. The candidates for the northwestern ward are Shelton Moore, Tip Nicholson, John Staford and Alex Walker.
