Seoni (MP), Sep 29 (UNI) Nine people, including women and children, sustained injuries when an intoxicated driver drove his speeding pick-up vehicle into a Durga pandal at Belgaon village in this district’s Doonda Seoni Police Station limits, police said.

The image of the Goddess was also damaged in late yesterday’s incident at the Bajrang Chowk pandal. The accused was identified as Gaurishankar Gautam.

All the victims have been admitted to the district hospital.

Law-enforcement authorities registered a first information report based on a complaint by Mahanand Rahangdale, seized the vehicle, took Gautam into custody and hospitalised him.
