COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A fatal shooting occurred Sunday in Lee County.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a Pilot truck stop, 1340 Sumter Hwy, Bishopville, SC .

Deputies said they found a female victim, who they believed had been shot, dead inside a vehicle.

One person has been reportedly detained, and there is no threat to the public at this time, the sheriff says.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in processing the crime scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area at this time.

The victim’s identity is not being released until notification of the next of kin.
