Jon Kay extended his sympathies to Leeds guest Errol Hamlet live on BBC Breakfast after he disclosed his ongoing struggle with prostate cancer.

In an inspiring segment, Jon and Sally Nugent conversed with Errol and Maya about the BBC's Make A Difference Awards, which celebrate unsung heroes who "improve the lives of others".

Jon went on to say, "This year's winners have been announced, and two of them are joining us this morning on the sofa. We're delighted to welcome 14-year-old Maya, recipient of Radio Manchester's Young Hero Award, and also Errol Hamlet, who bagged the Active Award with Radio Leeds."

Errol revealed that he won his award for walking around his local area, stating, "It makes me feel on top of the world".
