Investigation into Bud Crawford traffic stop in downtown Omaha starts

Hours after the community celebrated legendary boxer and Omaha native Terence “Bud” Crawford, he was pulled over by police officers downtown.

According to Omaha Police, a car was stopped in the area of 12th and Capitol Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after it was observed that the car was driving recklessly.

Police say an officer observed a firearm in the car while speaking with the driver. For safety, according to OPD, all four occupants of the car were ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint.
