A Silicon Valley startup has become the center of controversy after one of its founders stepped down shortly after her co-founder suffered life-changing injuries in a brutal attack. Peggy Wang, co-founder of the AI simulation platform Ego, announced on September 26 that she was leaving the company to launch her own startup.

In her post, Wang said she remained “incredibly bullish" on Ego’s other co-founder, Vishnu Hari, whom she affectionately referred to as Vish, and praised the rest of the team. But her decision to move on so soon after Hari’s recovery from a violent assault has sparked widespread criticism online.
