A Florida man is accused of killing and eating two of his pet peacocks just to “spite” a neighbor who fed the birds.

Craig Vogt, 61, of Hudson, was arrested on Sept. 23 after police said his neighbor received a disturbing letter from him, the Miami Herald reported .

In the letter, Vogt said that he killed and ate two of his pet peacocks only because she kept feeding them, police said.

Vogt’s neighbor told authorities that she had gotten into a verbal argument with him about feeding the birds.

When asked, Vogt told police that he slit the birds’ throats with a knife, then cooked them in a frying pan and ate them. He said he put the letter in his neighbor’s mailbox to “prove a point.”
