KERSHAW, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake was reported in the Midlands overnight on Monday.

Officials said the 1.8 magnitude earthquake hit six miles south southwest of Kershaw, SC at 3:08 a.m. It had a depth of 12 kilometers.

The USGS mentioned that the earthquake was also 35.3 miles south of Monroe, NC and 39.8 miles northeast of Columbia.
