Two brothers who work as drivers escaped with a bag containing Rs 45 lakh belonging to a Chartered Accountant on September 19. As the police started chasing them, they fled to Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and finally to Bihar. The duo was placed under arrest on Sunday and Rs 36 lakh in cash has been recovered so far.

An official said that on September 19, around 8 pm, the complainant Tej Prakash, a Wadala resident and a CA, had come to see his granddaughter. Trusting Nitesh Mahto, who had been working as a driver for nearly six months, he kept a bag containing Rs 45 lakh in his car. As per police, he was attending an auction later and hence carrying the cash.
