Panaji: Goans have lost amount to the tune of Rs 100 crore during last year for the cyber frauds, Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday, appealing the BJP leaders to create awareness about this crime at the booth level.
Addressing the workshop on curbing Cyber Frauds organised by BJP Goa Unit in Panaji, Sawant said that the amount that is being siphoned by the cyber frauds is disturbing.
BJP Goa President Damodar Naik was also present for the function.
The chief minister said that cyber frauds to the tune of Rs 22,845 crore was reported in India during last year. He said that the figures in Goa during the same period was Rs 100 crore.
“The victims of these frauds are not just restricted to uneducated but there are well educated persons too, who have fallen prey for these crimes,”
