US President Donald Trump on Monday announced a 100 per cent tariff on movies made outside America.

The latest in his tariff action is viewed as a step aimed at protecting the American film industry. The step is also estimated to discourage foreign films from capturing share in the US market.

This marks yet another harsh tariff policy by the Trump 2.0 administration, which has already imposed a number of duties to protect American businesses, ranging from automobiles to industrial metals pharmaceuticals and ven furniture.
