Adam Ellis has been hit with a wave of death threats after he posted a pro-trans webcomic to social media.
The American artist said he has received a number of threats after posting a comic mocking right-wing hysteria about trans people.
Published on Friday (26 September), Ellis’ comic depicts someone breaking into a trans person’s room and, having after reading posts online, accusing them of being a “ terrorist “, and claiming that transgender people were part of a “death cult.”
The final panel shows a trans woman, in a clay face mask, lying on her bed playing video games.
Adam Ellis wrote on Bluesky that since sharing the comic, social media users have reported his online accounts to suicide watch lists, which was a “way of saying ‘kill yourself’ without getting banned”, he said.
