The Los Angeles Police Department Monday is seeking the public’s assistance in finding the driver who struck and killed a 23-year-old pedestrian in Venice and drove away from the scene.

The male victim was crossing Washington at Lincoln boulevards in a marked crosswalk on Sept. 20 round 1:58 a.m., the LAPD said in a press release. As the pedestrian was crossing the street, he was hit by a blue SUV.

The driver of the SUV failed to stop, identify themselves and render aid at the scene of the traffic collision as required by law. The vehicle was last seen fleeing eastbound on Washington Boulevard, police said.
