Shillong, Sept 29: Governor CH Vijayashankar today inaugurated the Specialist Health Camp under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” at Ummulong Community Health Centre, West Jaintia Hills.

The programme was organised by the District Medical and Health Officer in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, and local Self-Help Groups.

Addressing the gathering, the governor said family well-being is dependent on women’s health, and together we must ensure that no woman or adolescent girl is left behind in accessing healthcare. He emphasized that issues such as drug abuse, TB, HIV, and cancer cannot be hidden and must be addressed openly to ensure healthier communities.
