The Women’s Rugby World Cup final took place on home soil over the weekend, with the Red Roses defeating Canada in a 33-13 victory, securing the trophy for the first time since 2014. Back then, there were 20,000 spectators. This weekend, at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, there were a record 82,000 fans cheering them on, the largest-ever crowd for a women’s rugby match.
And the teams really delivered on the crowd-pleasing moments.
