DENVER (KDVR) -- A man was arrested after he allegedly led law enforcement on a chase in Grand County, at times exceeding 110 mph.

On Saturday, around 5:16 p.m., police received a report of a driver in a silver BMW that was speeding, making bad passes and nearly causing a head-on crash on southbound U.S. Highway 34.

A Granby Police Officer tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver did not stop and accelerated. At that point, the Grand County Sheriff's Office got involved. A pursuit ensued through Granby and onto U.S. Highway 40 eastbound, according to a press release, where the driver was clocked at speeds exceeding 112 mph in a 60 mph zone.

The sheriff's office said the driver was "recklessly" passing vehicles on the shoulder and kicking up sand and gravel.
