The biggest challenge in the arbitration sector is the trust in the integrity and honesty of the arbitrator, said Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta. Mehta made these remarks during a two-day ‘Conference on Arbitration Law’ at the Gujarat High Court Auditorium.
The conference, organised by Gujarat High Court (HC) in collaboration with the Gujarat State Judicial Academy, was held on September 20-21, according to an official release.
Arbitration has emerged as a preferred mechanism for dispute resolution in India and the judiciary and Parliament are continuously working to align it with international standards and the conference was part of this endeavour, the release stated.
