GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies are investigating reports of a man showing a weapon Monday morning at a Santee Cooper energy facility.

Deputies responded to the Winyah Generating Station at Steam Plant Drive off Pennyroyal Road to a report of a man with a gun, sheriff’s spokesman Jason Leslie said.

Investigators were able to confirm reports that a contractor brandished a weapon and then left the scene, Leslie said.

Deputies have not provided a description of the man, but asked anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 843-546-5102.
