LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days after a young girl was "inappropriately touched" near a Louisville private school, a suspect has been arrested.

On Monday, Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) said Jacob Burnett, 27, has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

Burnett was arrested after an incident on Sept. 18 near McCready Avenue and Richard Avenue.

Police said a young girl was assaulted while waiting to be picked up from a nearby private school. The child was able to capture a video of the man who "inappropriately touched her" before running away.

According to LMPD, Burnett's arrest came after a tip from someone in the community.

"Your courage and commitment to protecting our community made a difference," the police department wrote on social media, thanking the individual.
