Scottish Labour candidate Joe Fagan has vowed to fight for the resources to make a regulated bus service a reality. ‌

Welcoming Strathclyde Partnership for Transport's decision to endorse bus franchising for the Strathclyde area, the East Kilbride councillor said South Lanarkshire Labour have backed moves for Strathclyde to join city regions across England who are taking back control of bus networks. ‌

These include Greater Manchester and Merseyside, but Strathclyde still has to secure the backing of the Scottish Government to join them. ‌
