Bobby Petrino has only been on the job for one day as Arkansas' interim head coach, and he's already making some sweeping staff changes.
On Monday, the Razorbacks overhauled the defensive staff, firing defensive coordinator Travis Williams, defensive line coach Deke Adams and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson. The news was first reported by ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Petrino is back as the Arkansas head coach after previously serving in the role from 2008-11. He holds that title on an interim basis (for now) after the Razorbacks fired sixth-year head coach Sam Pittman on Sunday following a 56-13 loss to Notre Dame.
The defense has been an issue so far this season, and Petrino has addressed it after replacing Pittman. Williams was in his third season as Arkansas' defensive coordinator after holding the same role at UCF, while Woodson had also held his title since 2023 after previously serving as a defensive backs coach at Florida State.
Adams joined the Arkansas staff in 2022 after previously serving as the defensive line coach at Florida International.
Petrino could make a push for the full-time position, and he hopes these changes can help lead to a turnaround for the Hogs, who are 2-3 to start the season and have lost three in a row, including a road defeat to a Group of Five opponent, Memphis.
Arkansas is on bye in Week 6 before hitting the road to face Tennessee in a rematch of last season's upset win for the Razorbacks.
