The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and Hillshire Brands Company are recalling approximately 58,000,000 pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products, which may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST-582” or “P-894” printed on the packaging. These items were sold online and shipped to retail and food service locations nationwide.

They were also sold to Department of Defense facilities and school districts nationwide, but was not part of food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program.
