Hate crime probe after men attacked with metal pole View Image

Two men were attacked with a metal pole and racially abused in a suspected hate crime in Bristol.

One of the victims has suffered serious injuries, including a fractured eye socket, a broken jaw and internal injuries.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged to recover at home.

The second victim was also racially abused by the gang, but did not suffer any serious physical injuries.

The attack took place in Sarah Street in the Lawrence Hill area of the city after the two victims crashed into a lamppost.

Following the single-vehicle crash, the victims were racially abused and then attacked by the gang of men.

Four men fled the scene in a white van and have been described as being:
