ROSELAND, La. — Newly obtained drone footage from drone pilot Eric McVicker shows the devastation caused by an explosion at in Roseland, Louisiana, last month.
The drone video shows the aftermath of the fire at the plant. It shows black charred tanks that once held flammable chemicals.
Hundreds of thousands of gallons of petroleum-based products are contaminating the nearby waterways. The oil in the water threatens to contaminate the Tangipahoa River.
The EPA has crews working 24/7 to contain and remove the oil from ponds and bayous.
To date, a total of 4,065,000 gallons have been shipped off-site for disposal.
