ANTRIM COUNTY, MI – Foggy conditions are contributed to a fatal crash in Northern Michigan.
Michigan State Police in Gaylord say a 79-year-old woman from Indian River died in the crash that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 131 and M-32 in Antrim County’s Warner Township at 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 26.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Indian River woman was driving a Ford when she turned onto U.S. 131 and was struck by an oncoming vehicle driven by a 25-year-old woman from Mancelona.
The Indian River woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The other driver also received treatment.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office, Antrim County Ambulance Authority, Elmira-Warner Township Fire Department and the Alba Fire Departm
