OKEMOS, MI - There’s “no credible active threat” at Okemos High School, authorities found after the school was evacuated Monday afternoon.

Students sheltered at the football stadium with staff while police officers and other first responders investigated a call about a possible threat at the school, 2800 Jolly Road.

The district first alerted the wider community to the evacuation at 1:40 p.m., via Facebook. At 2:35 p.m. , officials said that “no credible active threat” had been found.

“Students and staff are all safe,” Superintendent John Hood said.

The announcement also said that students would be released at the normal time, 2:35 p.m., and that after-school activities would go ahead as scheduled.
