Gov. Josh Stein visited Southport on Monday following a mass shooting that officials said was “highly premeditated.” The attack happened Saturday night at the American Fish Company, a popular waterfront bar. Police said 40-year-old Nigel Max Edge of Oak Island fired from a small boat into the crowd before taking off toward the Intracoastal Waterway.
