AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Police are investigating an ‘incident’ at Rudd Field at UMass Amherst, campus officials confirm.

The UMass Women’s Soccer game against Northern Illinois University was supposed to take place at that stadium Sunday, but was postponed.

“Our game vs. NIU will not be played today and has been postponed until further notice,” the UMass Women’s Soccer team posted to ‘X’ Sunday.

Western Mass News reached out to University officials for more information about why the game was postponed and they confirmed with us Monday that there was an investigation taking place.

“The University of Massachusetts Police Department is investigating reports of an isolated incident at Rudd Field on Sunday, September 28,” noted UMass Amherst representative, Emily Gest.
