A Livingston Parish man convicted of sexual battery of a child in an incident that took place in an unlicensed in-home day care was sentenced to 75 years in prison.

Joshua Prine, 43, of Albany, was sentenced last week by Judge Erika Sledge after he waived the right to a jury trial and instead had the judge decide the case.

Sledge found him guilty of sexual battery of a juvenile, where the victim is under the age of 13, following the testimony of a 10-year-old child.

The case stems from a 2023 Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations of abuse at an unlicensed in-home day care.
