HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- One person was sent to the hospital after being rescued from the Mohawk River Monday morning, according to the Halfmoon Fire Department. The incident involved over 10 responding agencies.
Just before 7 a.m., Halfmoon firefighters were dispatched to the area of Terminal Drive following a report of a distressed person in the Mohawk River. After first responders located the subject in the water, teams were then redirected to a home on Church Hill Road and additional resources were called in.
A Halfmoon Fire Department firefighter was able to reach the person, who was still conscious and above water, using a kayak, officials said. With the help of a rescue boat from the West Crescent Fire Department, the subject was safely removed from the Mohawk River before being
