Edmonton police say a cyclist was taken to hospital after being hit Monday morning.
EPS says officers responded to the intersection of 111 Avenue and 101 Street just before 5 a.m., after receiving a report of a collision.
Reports indicate that a 38-year-old man who was riding his bike, was travelling south and crossed the intersection against a red light when he was hit by a Jeep Compass that was travelling west.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police note that the driver of the Jeep was not injured.
Westbound lanes along 111 Avenue between 101 and 102 Street were closed for several hours due to the collision, but have been reopened.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
