BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - ESPN host and college football personality Paul Finebaum confirmed to WBRC’s Janice Rogers Monday he is “seriously considering” a run for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat in the 2026 Republican primary.

The ESPN & SEC Network host is considering a run for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R), who’s running for Governor.

Finebaum told Outkick’s Clay Travis that the Charlie Kirk assassination made him rethink his priorities.

“I spent four hours numb talking about things that didn’t matter to me. And it kept building throughout that weekend,” Finebaum said during his interview on Outkick.com . “I felt very empty doing what I was doing that day.”
