COVINGTON, Ky. — The City of Covington is wrapping up the switch from one-way to two-way traffic on Scott and Greenup streets.
On Monday, Sept. 29, milling and paving operations will begin on Greenup Street and move to Scott Street. This is the last stage of the multi-phase project, which should help with traffic and improve pedestrian and bicycle safety. According to the City of Covington, it will also reduce cut-through traffic in Covington’s Eastside, Helentown, Austinburg and Wallace Woods neighborhoods.
Drivers may notice some other issues while the switch over takes place. They include:
Some traffic signals along the corridor are being replaced with stop signs.
New signage is being installed, and traffic signals will flash red to reinforce the two-way change.
