COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KIAH) -- Reveille IX, the collie that was the Texas A&M mascot for seven years, has died, school officials said.

Retired Lt. Gen. James Bierman Jr., the commandant of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, made the announcement on Monday that Reveille IX passed away on Saturday due to complications from pneumonia.

“As her predecessors have since 1931, Miss Reveille IX served as an unrelenting living symbol of the Aggie spirit, both on campus and into her retirement,” Bierman said in a statement on social media.
