The last Friday of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival brought fewer people out, with more room to explore the 16th century magical kingdom on a gorgeous fall day. If you’ve ever attended the more colloquially known Ren Faire, you are familiar with the giant smoked turkey legs, corseted dresses, friendly mermaids and the light-hearted air of jest. MinnPost’s photojournalist Ellen Schmidt leaned into the familiar favorites as she photographed Minnesota’s 54th Renaissance Festival.
